Howard County Arkansas

 

Howard County was created on April 17, 1873 from parts of Hempstead, Pike, Polk and Sevier Counties.  The first county seat 

was Centre Point.  After the completion of a railroad to Nashville in 1885, the city grew rapidly.  In 1905, after a bitter election, the

county government was moved to Nashville.
