Text
of sign:
It
is the most precious cliff, historically possessed by any nation on earth...
Charles F. Lummis, 1892
When
all the rest of the Southwest has fallen to Progress, I pray that El Morro
will stand inviolate as a sanctuary for those who seek
peace
and quiet on a clean earth.
Lawrence Clark Powell, 1973
Canopied
by some magnificent rocks and shaded by a few pine trees, the whole forming
an exquisite picture, we found a cool and
capacious
spring - an accessory not more grateful to the lover of the beautiful than
refreshing to the way-worn traveler.
Lt. James H. Simpson, 1849
Graphics
on the sign
