Text
of sign:
Yellowstone's
Waterfalls
Yellowstone is waterfall country. Here you see the Gibbon
River pitching over the eroded rim of an old volcano caldera
to
form
Gibbon Falls. Abundant runoff water, precipitous fault scarps,
steep-sloped lava flows, and abrupt differences in rock
hardness
all contribute to the number and variety of Yellowstone's
waterfalls.
You
can drive to several including the Lower Falls of the
Yellowstone. Many other beautiful falls await the wilderness
hiker.
